Dillon

It's been a few years since I've shared any pictures of Dillon. He's now 4 and growing up to be quite a cutey if I must say so myself. Who's prejudiced, not grandma!

We were in southern Illinois at the Garden of the Gods this summer and having a ball. I really think the kid is part mountain goat (Pardon the pun). He wasn't the least bit afraid to climb these huge boulders. Grandma on the other hand was another story but to keep up with him, these short little legs did climb them too.Boy try to get up on them at my age.
The view from the top is truly spectacular.....
It's part of the Shawnee National Forest. If you get a chance to visit, it's well worth the hike!

Catching up Again!

I won't waste time apologizing for all the time between posts. Lets face it, I'm a bad blogger.
I will however get straight to sharing pictures of  some of the quilts that I've finished since my last post:

This first one is a quilt that I helped my friend piece for her daughter's wedding present. It's a photo quilt with pictures of both the bride and groom from childhood to adulthood.

It was custom quilted with lots of feathers.
Next is another custom quilt with lots of feathers. I'm on a feather kick.........
I used a ruler from Deloa Jones for the rope border, it's really slick.
The center star is surrounded by curved crosshatching and the same treatment is applied to the center of the star along with feathers in the points. I used a variegated thread in the colored parts and black for all the backgrounds with a solid red in the sashings. I really love how this one turned out. I wish I could have kept this one. I'll have to make one for myself (Who's dreaming now?)
Think I'll end now and save some for another time.
See I really have been busy.....honest, I have!
